TasteBook Cookbook Giveaway Sweepstakes: "Cherries"
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID IN RHODE ISLAND, COLORADO, PUERTO RICO, AND WHERE PROHIBITED.
Sweepstakes sponsor is TasteBook, Inc., 2240 Sixth Street, Berkeley, CA, 94710 ("Sponsor"). The Great Cookbook Giveaway Sweepstakes: "Cherries" ("Sweepstakes") is open to legal residents of the 50 United States (except Rhode Island and Colorado) and the District of Columbia who are aged 18 or older as of 12:01 am (EST) November 11th, 2009.
There are Two methods to enter the Sweepstakes.
Method 1 (if you are not currently a member of the TasteBook service). Complete the following steps: register for the TasteBook service at tastebook.com by accepting the terms of service (be sure click the 'CLICK TO WIN' box) and providing a valid email address. If you are currently a TasteBook member, just click the ENTER TO WIN button and sign-in. That's all you need to do to enter the Sweepstakes. The "Entry Period" starts on November 11th, 2009 at 12:00am and ends on December 8th, 2009 at 11:59pm.
Or Method 2. For each entry, you can send a postcard identifying your email address to Sponsor at: "The Great Cookbook Giveaway Sweepstakes Request: Cherries," c/o TasteBook, Inc., 2240 Sixth Street, Berkeley, CA, 94710. Each postcard needs to be postmarked by December 8th, 2009.
Your entry is non-transferable. If your entry is the winning entry, we will notify you by sending an email to the email address you provide through your registration with the TasteBook service (or the email provided in a postcard, as described above) ("Prize Notification"). You will then be required to provide all reasonably requested information and meet all eligibility requirements. You will also be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility, as well as a liability/publicity rights release. Sponsor must receive those materials within fourteen days of the Prize Notification or the prize will be forfeited and awarded in a "Second Chance Sweepstakes" random drawing (see below). The winner must meet the requirements described in this Section before the prize will be issued. If the winner (1) cannot be contacted at the email address given, (2) is contacted and does not respond as directed within seven days of attempted notification, or (3) refuses the prize or is ineligible to accept the prize, the prize may be forfeited and awarded in a "Second Chance Sweepstakes" as described below. Sponsor and its agencies are not responsible for lost, late, stolen, illegible, incomplete, damaged, destroyed, postage due or misdirected entries or email, mail or other communications failures. No mechanically reproduced entries or facsimiles are allowed.
The winner will be chosen randomly from all of the entries. One (1) first "grand" prize will be awarded consisting of 2-dozen freshly baked butter cookies (from author Suzan Colon, sent by way of overnight delivery 7-12 days after winner is announced) plus a signed copy of the book. Twenty (20) additional prizes will be awarded consisting of a published cookbook signed by the author. Odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received. The prize may not be redeemed for cash. All taxes and any expenses on the receipt and use of the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner (the winner should consult appropriate tax advisor).
By entering, you agree to: (1) release the Sponsor and its agents from all liability, injuries, loss and/or damage of any kind arising from your participation in the Sweepstakes and the acceptance, possession and use/misuse of any prize; and (2) be bound by these Official Rules. By accepting a prize, you consent to the use of your name and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation in all media worldwide.
Any Sweepstakes materials that are mutilated, tampered with, contain errors, or are obtained other than through authorized channels are automatically void. Employees of Sponsor, its advertising, promotion and production agencies and their immediate family members and persons living in the same household are not eligible to enter or win. Only the advertised number of prizes will be awarded. If for any reason including tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause beyond the control of Sponsor, which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes), the Sweepstakes is not capable of being conducted as described in these rules, Sponsor shall have the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes. Sponsors reserve the right to disqualify any entrant found tampering with the entry process or with the operation of the Sweepstakes or who violates these Official Rules.
Any prize that is unclaimed as described in these Official Rules will be awarded in a "Second Chance Sweepstakes" random drawing to be held on or about January 4th, 2010. All non-winning sweepstakes entries will automatically be entered into the Second Chance Sweepstakes. Odds of winning Second Chance Sweepstakes depend on the number of eligible entries received and unclaimed prizes.
