Rosemary Bread
ingredients
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 3/4 cup water
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons white sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon rosemary
- 2 1/2 cups bread flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast

1. Combine yeast with 1/4 cup warm water. Mix well and allow to sit 10 minutes.

2. Add flour, salt, sugar, oil, and remaining water. Knead well on floured surface with floured hands.

3. Add pepper, rosemary, and oregano, and repeat kneading.

4. Oil a bowl. Transfer bread to bowl, cover, and allow bread to rise 1 hour in warm location.

5. Punch down then allow to rise another hour.

6. Bake at 375° in a loaf pan until browned (approximately 35 minutes).

7. Remove from oven, brush with olive oil, and sprinkle with pepper.

8. Cool on wire rack. Serve with olive oil and cracked pepper.
