ingredients

  • 2 LB. bag frozen hash brown potatoes (shredded potatoes)
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 t pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • TOPPING:
  • 2 cups crushed corn flakes and 1/4 cup melted butter
  • or
  • 2 cup crushed Rice Chex cereal and 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • or
  • top with extra grated cheese.

directions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter the baking dish. Thaw potatoes enough to work with. Mix ingredients and place in buttered dish. Place topping of choice on it and Bake 45 - 50 minutes.
