Chili "Sorta" Verde
ingredients
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 T ground cumin
- 3 T chili powder
- 19 oz can green enchilada sauce
- 32 oz canned tomatillos with liquid (or fresh)
- 7 oz hot salsa verde
- 3 1/2 lb pork sirloin, cubed
- olive oil
- 2 c finely minced onions
- 1 1/2 T fresh pressed garlic
- 1 or 2 cans diced chilies
- 2 mined green peppers
- 1 tsp lime juice
- 1/2 c chopped cilantro leaves
- salt

In a small bowl, combine oregano, cumin and chili powder. In a chili pot combine enchilada sauce, tomatillos, and salads verde. Press tomatillos against the side of the pot to crush. Add spice mixture to liquids. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer stirring frequently.

Brown pork in oil with onion and garlic. Drain meat and add to chili pot. Add diced green chilies. Return to pot to simmer.

After two hours, add green peppers and salt. Taste and adjust.

Add cilantro and lime juice.
