Chicken Noodle Casserole

ingredients

  • 3 lb chicken
  • 1 - 8 oz package noodles
  • 2 - 10 oz cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 - 8 oz package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 C. sour cream
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • garlic powder to taste
  • 1 C. fine bread crumbs
  • 1/2 C. melted butter

directions

Cover the chicken with water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, simmer until chicken is tender & cooked through. Remove the chicken, retaining the broth in the pan. Cook the noodles in the chicken broth using the package directions. Bone the chicken while the noodles are cooking, cut into bite-size pieces. Combine the next 4 ingredients in a large bowl. Stir in the chicken and noodles. Season with salt & pepper and garlic powder. Spread in a greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Combine the bread crumbs with the butter; sprinkle over the noodle mixture. Bake 45-50 minutes or until bubbly at 350 degrees.
