Danish Pastry

ingredients
Crust- 1 C. flour
- 1/2 C. butter, softened
- 2 T. water
- 1 C. water
- 1/2 C. butter
- 1/2 t. almond flavor
- 1 t. vanilla
- 1 C. flour
- 3 eggs
- 6 T. butter, softened
- 1 lb. powdered sugar
- 1 t. vanilla
- 1/2 t. almond flavor
- 1/4 C. milk or cream
directions
Crust
Mix flour, butter, and water like piecrust. Pat onto pizza pan, leaving center open, like a wreath, or pat into two strips on a jelly roll pan.
Filling
Bring 1 C. water, 1/2 C. butter to a full boil. Remove from heat and add flavorings. Immediately add the flour; stir well. Add eggs one at a time, stirring well after each addition, until smooth. Spread this mixture over the crust. Bake 55-60 minutes at 350. Cool completely.
Icing
Mix ingredients and drizzle over pastry.
