Chocolate Pound Cake
ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup butter-flavored shortening
- 3 cups sugar
- 5 large eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2/3 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/4 cups whole milk
- 1 recipe Fudge icing

Preheat oven to 325

Grease and flour a 12-cup tube pan.

In large bowl beat butter, shortening and sugar at medium speed until creamy.

Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

In another bowl sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.

Add flour mixture to butter mixture, alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour.

Bake for 1 hour 10 min. or until toothpick comes out clean

Cool for 15 min.
