Nourishing Chili
On a chilly night, this chili hits the spot!
ingredients
- 1 pkg ground turkey meat,
- 2 stalks celery, chopped,
- 1 can diced tomatoes,
- 1 can tomato sauce,
- 1/2 can black beans,
- 1 can kidney beans,
- 3/4 c frozen corn,
- 1 bunch red chard, chopped,
- 1/2 onion, chopped,
- 2 garlic cloves, minced,
- 3 tbs cumin,
- 3 tbs chili powder,
- salt and pepper to taste,
- extra-virgin olive oil,
- few spoonfuls craime fraiche (garnish)
directions
Cover fry pan with olive oil and heat on medium/high. Add onion and garlic and cook until onions soften. Add turkey meat, breaking with spatula into crumbles. Keep stirring. Add cumin, chili powder, and a bit of black pepper. When meat is cooked half through, add celery to pan and stir. Add cans of tomato and tomato sauce, then beans. Stir continuously. Add chard and frozen corn, and let chili simmer on stove for 20 mins (or longer if you have the time). Taste for seasoning, and add more chili, salt, or pepper to taste. Garnish with a dallop of craime fraiche.
