Favorite Breakfast Strata
A delectable, make-ahead treat for breakfast.
ingredients
- 1 loaf of Cranberry Pecan Ciabatta bread
- 1 8 oz. tub of mascarpone cheese
- dried cranberries or Craisins
- 6 large eggs
- 3/4 to 1 cup milk and/or cream
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Pampered Chef Cinnamon Plus to taste
- Confectioners sugar
- Maple syrup
- Butter to grease the baking pan

Grease pyrex square pan, or oblong pan for full loaf, with butter (preferrably). Slice the ciabatta in thin slices at a diagonal for wider slices. Add a smear of mascarpone cheese to each slice as they are layered into the baking dish. Add a middle layer of sprinkled Craisins.

In a mixing bowl, scramble the eggs, vanilla and milk or cream with a few sprinkles of Cinnamon Plus. Pour egg mixture over the layered bread until just to the top of the pan. Cover with clear wrap and refrigerate overnight.

Next morning, preheat oven to 325°F and allow 60-90 minutes for baking. Place the pan in a water bath, if possible, or just place a pan of water on the lower rack while baking. Use a meat thermometer and bake until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.

Serve slices sprinkled lightly with confectioner’s sugar and warmed maple syrup on the side.
