Indian Summer Turkey Chili
You can cook this even when it’s not Indian Summer, just so you know.
ingredients
- 3 tbs. extra virgin olive oil
- 2 1/2 lbs. ground turkey
- 4 tbs. chili powder
- 2 tbs. grill seasoning blend
- 1 tbs. cumin
- 2 tbs. Worcestershire sauce
- 1-3 tbs. hot sauce
- 1 large onion, quartered
- 2 large peppers (any color)
- 1 cup beer
- 14 oz. can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 cups corn kernels, optional
directions
- 1
Heat a pot over med. to med. high heat. Add olive oil and turkey meat. Season meat with chili powder, grill seasoning, cumin, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Break up meat with the back of a wooden spoon into small crumbles.
- 2
Chop onion, reserving a 1/4 of it for topping the chili. Brown meat 5 minutes, then add onions and chopped bell peppers and cook 10 minutes more. Add beer and deglaze the pan. Add tomato sauce and BBQ sauce and bring to a bubble. If using corn kernels, add them now. Let chili simmer 10 minutes. Adjust seasonings and heat level to your taste. Serve and wait for the compliments.
