ingredients
- 2 lb round steak (cut off fat) cut in 1 in cubes
- 2 T shortening
- 4 cups HOT water
- 1 t worchshire sauce
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 med onion chopped
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 t salt
- 1 t sugar
- 1/2 t paprika
- 1/4 t pepper
- dash of ground spice or cloves
- 6 carrots cut up and peeled
- 4 potatoes cut and peeled
- 1 lb small white onion
- Gravy

In Big Pan

Brown meat in 2 T shortening (turn often)

4 cups hot water add to meat

Add next 9 ingredients

Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours

Stir Occasionally

Remove bay leaf and garlic

Add veggies

Cover and Cook 30-45 min till veggies are done (med/high)
Gravy

Skim most of fat off of liquid

take 1 3/4 cup liquid and combine with

1/4 c water and 2 T water and Shake

Stir slowly into liquid

to thicken cook on low
