Apple Pie
ingredients
- 3/4 C. sugar
- 1/4 C. flour
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- dash of salt
- 6 C. thinly slicked, pared apples
- 2 Tbs. butter or margarine

Heat oven 425 degrees. Stir sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt. Mix with apples, put in pan with a crust make slits and dots with butter on top crust. Bake 40 to 50 min.

Can be varied for Dutch Apple Pie by omitting butter and top crust. Crumb topping: Mix 1 C. flour, 1/2 C. firm butter or margarine, and 1/2 C. brown sugar (packed) until crumbly. Pour on apple mixture and bake for 1 hour.
