Sausage ItalianoKaren Seavers
Sausage cooked in apple juice and tomato sauce, served over farfalle pasta
- total time:
- 20 (minutes)
- 2 lb bulk pork sausage
- 1 can (16 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 cup onion chopped
- 1 1/2 cups apple juice
- 2 cans (16 oz) sliced button mushrooms, drained (I use bits and pieces)
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- 1 pkg farfalle (bowtie pasta) May also use wide egg noodles.
Brown sausage, breaking up as you cook it. Drain. Add all but noodles. Stir well. Cover and simmer 20-30 minutes.
Meanwhile, cook farfalle, drain and place in serving dish. Add up to 1/2 stick butter, stir, coating noodles.
You can cover the noodles with the sausage mixture or serve them separately.
