LASAGNA & SPAGHETTI SAUCE
ingredients
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 lbs. ground beef
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, pressed
- 2 large cans tomatoes
- 2 cans tomato paste
- 2 cans tomato sauce
- 1 cup catsup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1/4 cup parsley, minced
- 1 1/2 tbsp. salt
- 2 tbsp. seasoned salt
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 tbsp. pepper
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp. dried basil
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp. chili powder

- 1 lb. hot Italian sausage
- 1 lb. mozzarella cheese
- 1 lb. ricotto cheese
- 2 pkgs. wide lasagna noodles
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Saute the ground beef in olive oil. Add ingredients up to the ****. Saute 3 hours.

Saute sausage and crumble. (For spaghetti sauce only, stir cooked sausage into ground beef sauce. The sauce is done.

For lasagna, cook noodles as directed on package. In a large 3 inch deep baking dish, arrange a layer of cooked noodles, lattice fashion. Spoon on sauce; sprinkle with a bit of sausage, slices of mozzarella cheese and teaspoon of ricotto cheese. Top with more noodles. Repeat until all ingredients are used. Top with parmesan cheese. Bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour.
