The Bootle Family standby. Small, round crunchy balls made with pecans and rolled with sugar. Cooking Notes: The dough is very crumbly. On my first attempt, I had to leave it in the fridge for 20 minutes to hydrate and then press really, really hard to get them to stay. However, I had rave reviews. In the end, I bowed to the pressure to sift the flour first and that made them hold together just enough.

ingredients

  • 3/4 C Butter, softened
  • 9 Tbsp powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 C. all-purpose flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 C. of finely chopped pecans

directions

  • 1

Mix together all the ingredients. Roll dough into small balls that are slightly larger than a marble.

  • 2

Bake at 325F for 25-30 minutes.

  • 3

After they are completely cooled, roll balls in powdered sugar. Shaking some in a bag works best.
