Famous Cole Slaw
ingredients
- 3 pounds shredded cabbage
- 3/4 pounds grated carrots
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 5 ribs celery, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped (white)
- Dressing:
- 1 cup cider vinegar
- 1 cup red wine vinegar
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup olive oil
- 1 1/2 tablespoons pepper (half black/half white)
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2/3 teaspoons celery seed
- Garlic salt (to taste)
- Onion salt (to taste)

Blend all dressing ingredients in bowl until well mixed. Pour over cabbage, carrots, celery, peppers, onion. Mix well.

If you want to keep the slaw to keep for up to two weeks, omit green peppers and celery. Bring dressing to a boil until sugar is dissolved. Pour over cabbage, carrots, onion. Mix thoroughly, cover, refrigerate.
