Mother's Rolls
Recipe from Papa’s Aunt Hazel
ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1/2 shortening
- 1/2 sugar
- 1/4 cup warm water mixed with package of yeast
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 5 cups flour

In large bowl beat egg, and add salt.

Add sugar and shortening and mix well.

Add warm water (2 cups) and yeast mixture.

Mix well and add flour a little at a time.

Set aside for at least 3 1/2 hours or until it has doubled in size.

Knead a few minutes without adding more flour. (you may have to flour the board heavily to knead)

Put back in bowl and place in refridgerator at least overnight. (can keep up to a week)

Pinch off or cut into rolls and let rise.

Bake at 375° to 400° for 15 minutes or until your desired brown.
