Jan's Cinnamon Rolls
ingredients
- Place dry ingredients in big mixing bowl:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tspn. salt
- 1/2 cup dry milk
- 3 cups flour
- 1 package dry yeast
- Put following in bowl and heat in microwave to 120-130*:
- 2 cups water
- 1/4 cup butter
- Combine wet and dry ingredients and mix to combine, then add:
- 1 slightly beaten egg

Beat well in mixer (about 5 min). Start gradually adding 2-3 cups flour until not sticky (it’s ok not to use all the flour). Take dough out of mixer and knead by hand for 2-3 minutes, form into a ball. Place in lightly greased bowl, seam side down, and cover with slightly damp towel. Let rise for 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours in a warm, draft free place(oven is a good place). Punch down, and split dough into two even pieces, place one aside. Poll out one half of the dough into a rectangle. Spread generous amounts of butter over dough. Sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, nuts, raisins. Starting with the longer side, roll dough as tight as you can, like a long log. Cut the ends off to even. then slice log evenly about 1" thick. Put in square baking pan, leaving a little room between. Let rise again for about 45 minutes. Bake 375* for about 20 minutes until done. Frost if desired (cream cheese frosting).
