Lowcountry Boil

TarenTaren Myrick

(This is a standard Lowcountry dish and can be made with any amount of ingredients depending on quantity of people serving)

ingredients

  • Old Bay Seasoning
  • garlic powder
  • Shrimp
  • new potatoes
  • ears of corn (broken in half)
  • sausage
  • 1 onion

directions

  • 1

Fill a large pot with water.

  • 2

Add Old Bay Seasoning and garlic powder to taste.

  • 3

Add a whole cut up onion and 1 cup of vinegar.

  • 4

    Bring to a boil.

  • 5

Add new potatoes and ears of corn (broken in half).

  • 6

Add sausage on top – any kind you prefer – Keilbasa is good.

  • 7

Boil all till potatoes are tender.

  • 8

Add shrimp (with shells and tails on) on top and boil no more than 1- 2 minutes.

  • 9

Place all ingredients onto platter for serving. It’s best to keep shrimp separate after plating so they won’t continue to cook being next to hot ingredients, if possible.

  • 10

Serve with melted butter and enjoy!
