Split Pea and Ham
ingredients
- 16 oz split pea
- 3 qt. water
- 1 ham shank
- 1 onion chopped fine
- 1 chicken bouillon
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 1/2 cup carrots
- 1 cup celery

In a deep pot cook all but the carrots and celery for 1 1/2 hours uncovered.

Remove ham bone and remove meat.

Stir in meat, carrots, and celery.

Simmer uncovered 2-2 1/2 hours or until soup reaches desired thickness.

Salt as desired.
