Quick Cheese and Pepper Bread
Amanda used to make this and serve it at some of the dinners she had invited me to and I fell in love with this bread. It’s so quick, easy, and it’s delicious. I recommend using a strong cheese.
ingredients
- 2 cups Flour
- 1 cup shredded Sharp or Medium Cheddar Cheese
- 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Coarse Ground Black Pepper
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 1/3 cup melted Margarine or Butter
- 2 Eggs

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease bottom only of 9x5 or 8x4-inch loaf pan. In medium bowl, combine all dry ingredients; mix well.

In small bowl, combine last three wet ingredients; blend well. Add to flour mixture; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Pour into greased pan.

Bake for 35-45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool five minutes; remove from pan. Serve warm or cool completely on wire rack. Wrap tightly and store in refrigerator.
