Honey – Lemon Tilapia with Jasmine Rice
ingredients
- 2 tbs (or so) Honey – local honey is especially good for you
- 2 tbs (or so) flour
- 2 tbs (or so) olive oil
- 1/2 lemon or lemon juice
- 1 piece of tilapia (you can also use other similar white fishes)
- Jasmine Rice – (white or brown rice would also work)
- Medium cooking pot
- Small or medium skillet
directions
- 1
Fill the medium pot a little over half full with water.
- 2
Bring to a boil (sprinkle salt in to bring to a boil more quickly).
- 3
Make sure tilapia is thawed. Rinse off.
- 4
Follow instructions on the package for making rice. If the rice is to be cooked for 10 minutes, you will want to put the fish in the skillet right after pouring the rice into the boiling water.
- 5
Pour some olive oil in the skillet and heat on the low side of medium.
- 6
Put some flour on a plate or bowl and lightly cover the fish with flour.
- 7
Put flour covered fish in the skillet.
- 8
After about 4 minutes, carefully flip the fish over using a spatula.
- 9
Drain the rice.
- 10
The fish should cook on medium heat for about 7-10 minutes (about 4 min each side)
- 11
You will know the fish is ready if it is lightly browned on each side.
- 12
Put rice on plate. Put fish on top of rice.
- 13
Sprinkle lemon on fish.
- 14
Pour honey on top of fish and rice.
