Kentucky State Fair BBQ Sauce
I thought this is a fun recipe to have. It’s really great sauce, so try reducing the quantities!!!!
ingredients
- 8 large onions-pureed
- 3/4 gallon worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 pound bacon**
- 6 cups molasses
- 3 pounds dark brown sugar
- 2/3 gallon cidar vinegar (5%)
- 2 quarts water
- 6 ounces beef broth
- 1 quart uncooked hot sauce(adjust this quantity to taste!)
- 2 quarts beer
- 1 cup oregano
- 1/2 gallon regular yellow mustard
- 24 ounces Coke
- 1 cup R & R rub(low seasoned salt)
- 10 tablespoons minced garlic
- 20 tablespoons black pepper
- 5 tablespoons onion powder
- 10 tablespoons lemon pepper
- 10 tablespoons steak seasoning (by Montreal)
- 10 tablespoons chili powder
- 10 tablespoons paprika
- 4-#10 (7lbs 3 oz) ketchup

Cook together everything but the ketchup.

Add ketchup while on a smoker for about 1/2 hour to darken.
notes
**Bacon: can omit & sauce will keep for 2 months if using the bacon, the sauce will keep for 30 days.
