ingredients
- 2 1/2 C flour
- 1 C cornstarch
- 1 C sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 C vegetable shortening
- milk for coating cookies
- sesame seeds for coating cookies

Cream the sugar and shortening. Beat eggs and vanilla, mix them well into the sugar mixture. Sift dry ingredients 2 times. Add slowly to we ingredients until just absorbed. The result should be a soft dough. Add additional milk or flour if necessary.

Form dough into a ball, flour it, and cover it with a cloth. Let it rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Take a piece of dough and roll it into a rope about 3/4 inch diameter. Cut into 3 inch lengths. Coat each in milk and roll in seeds. Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes, until a light golden color.
