Mama's Macaroni & Cheese

O.K., this is “The Best” Mac & Cheese you’ll ever eat - too many people have said so that’s why I can say it is.

ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cup elbow macaroni
  • 1/2 lb. Velveeta Cheese, cubed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 - 12 oz. can Carnation Evaporated Milk
  • Salt & Cayenne Pepper, to taste
  • extra milk
  • 4 - 5 pats of butter

    Spray a 2 quart pyrex baking dish with Pam. Boil macaroni in salted water. When done, rinse under cool water, drain and place in baking dish.

    In separate bowl, beat eggs, add Carnation Milk. Add salt and cayenne pepper to taste. Add cubed Velveeta Cheese, and place in milk and egg mixture. Pour this mixture over macaroni, then add extra milk to this mixture until milk and macaroni mixture are about even. (Less milk will make it drier, more will make it creamier.) Add more cheese, if desired. Place pats of butter on top. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.d
