Caroline’s Pound cake
ingredients
- 2 sticks butter (not margarine)
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3 1/4 cups sugar
- 6 eggs
- 3 1/2 cups sifted cake flour (not plain flour)
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp Vanilla
- 1 tsp lemon flavoring
- 1 cup milk (whole milk makes a crustier top and sides)
