ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter (not margarine)
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3 1/4 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 1/2 cups sifted cake flour (not plain flour)
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 tsp lemon flavoring
  • 1 cup milk (whole milk makes a crustier top and sides)
