Pot Roast
Grandma Tessie’s Pot Roast from way back!
ingredients
- 3-5 lb. pot roast
- onions, green and/or red peppers
- mushrooms (sliced)
- small onion
- 1 large can tomato sauce
- red wine
- salt, pepper, paprika for seasoning
- vegetable oil
- carrots
- potatoes

Season meat on both sides

Score the meat on both sides

Heat the oil

When oil is hot place pot roast in pan and sear on both sides till brown

Add diced onions and peppers and saute till soft
- 6
When soft, pour in 1 large can of tomato sauce, some red wine (cooking wine is ok) and some water. Cover pot halfway and cook for 1-1 1/2 hours.

After 1-1/1/2 hours remove pot roast and place on cutting board.

Add back in cut up carrots, mushrooms and quartered potatoes.

Slice meat up thin and against the grain.

Put meat back in pot. (You may have to add a little more tomato sauce)

Continue cooking for at least another hour until meat is very tender.
