Peanut Blossoms

We first made these during Christmas time at St.Luke’s when you girls were in Sunday School there. I make them every Christmas.
ingredients
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3/4 c. peanut butter
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 T. milk
- 1 t. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 t. baking soda
- 1/2 t. salt
- Chocolate stars

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Beat shortening and peanut butter in large bowl until well blended. Add sugars; beat until fluffy. Add egg, milk, and vanilla; beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually beat into peanut butter mixture.

Shape into 1 inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Press stars immediately. Cookies will crack. Cool on wire rack.
