Best Breakfast Casserole
This is a great breakfast casserole which can be made ahead and cooked the morning of your event.
ingredients
- 12 slices bread,each side buttered, sourdough works well
- 1 lb. Swiss cheese, grated
- 8 oz fresh mushrooms or 4 oz can of sliced mushrooms
- 1 to 2 cups of cooked, crumbled bacon or fried bulk sausage (may also use ham or chicken)
- Dash of seasoned salt
- Garlic, Salt and Pepper to taste
- 2 cups milk
- 4 eggs
directions
Line a 9“ X 13” casserole with bread. Cover with cheese, mushrooms and bacon. Repeat layers. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over the layers of the casserole. Refrigerate overnight. Remove 1 hour before baking. Bake covered at 350 until cheese start bubbling should be ready in approximately one hour.
