Peco Flake Candy

ingredients

2 cups sugar
1 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon soda
1 cup light corn syrup
2 cup raw peanuts
1 package wide flake coconut

directions

Combine sugar, syrup and water in heavy skillet and cook, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves. Add salt and nuts. Cook, stirring occasionally, to hard crack stage, 294°. Add butter, vanilla and soda. Stir in coconut and pour onto 2 buttered cookie sheets. While still warm, pull out to desired thickness. When cold, crack into pieces.
