Squash Casserole
ingredients
- 2 cups applesauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 package frozen mashed squash
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 6 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup white bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds

Mix applesauce, brown sugar, salt, heavy cream, squash, nutmeg, 4 tablespoons of melted butter and eggs. Place in 1 1/2 quart casserole.

Sauté bread crumbs and slivered almonds in remaining 2 tablespoons butter for just a minute. Sprinkle on top of squash mixture. Bake at 375 for 45-50 minutes.
