Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes
ingredients
- 2 1/2 lb. Yukon Gold potatoes, unpeeled, washed and halved or quartered
- 1/4 cup peeled garlic cloves
- 1 cup milk or half and half
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) of butter
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Steam potatoes and garlic cloves over simmering water until very tender. Just before potatoes are done, heat milk and butter in a small saucepan until hot.

Place hot cooked potatoes and garlic in a large mixing bowl. Break up potatoes with a potato masher or mixer with paddle attachment on low. Drizzle in warm milk mixture, beating potatoes on low speed for about 30 seconds.

Beat in sour cream, salt and pepper. Increase mixer speed and beat until fluffy.
