Vegetable beef soup using Grandma’s recipe

ingredients

  • 3-4 pound beef chuck roast trimmed
  • 3-4 potatoes peeled and cut in 1/2" cubes
  • 4-6 carrots peeled and sliced in rounds
  • 3-4 stalks celery sliced in rounds
  • 1/2 head cabbage chopped into small pieces
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp chopped garlic
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 can 64 oz size tomato juice
  • 1/3 pound spaghetti broken into 1 1/2" pieces, cooked (optional)
