Beef with Thai Basi

Makes 3-4

ingredients

  • 1 lb.flank steak or choice top sirlon sliced thin across grain about 1 inch wide and 3 inch long
  • 2 tab cornstarch
  • 2 tab water
  • 2 tab oil
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 jalapeno chili, seeded and sliced lengthwise
  • 1 tab oyster sauce
  • 1 tab fish sauce
  • 1 tab soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup loosely packed thai basil leaves
  • 3-5 roma tomatoes, seeded and cut into thin wedges
  • 3 tab chicken stock
  • 2 cups broccoli, stemmed and cut into bite size pieces

    In a small mixing bowl, comine first three ingredient and mix well, set aside

    In a wok or frying pan, heat oil until hot, add garlic, chilies, and stir fry for about 1-2 minutes. Wait until the chilies give of a nice aroma and add beef. Toss around in pan until nicely browned about 3 minutes. Add fish sauce, oyster sauce and soy sauce. add tomatoes, basil leaves and cook another minutes or so until hot, remove from pan and garnish with cilantro (if sauce too thick, use chicken broth) serve with rice
