Aunt Duffy's Beef Stew

ingredients

  • 2 tbs flour 2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 1/2 lbs beef cubes 1"
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 1 can tomato Soup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 4 carrots chopped 1 inch
  • 2 onions quartered
  • 1/2 cup red wine (Burgundy)
  • sliced mushrooms (Optional)

directions

  • 1

    1. Combine flour, salt, and pepper. Coat meat in mixture,brown in oil.

    2. Add tomato soup, water, and chopped onions

    3. Cover and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.

    4. Add vegetables and wine.

  • 5

    5. Bake another 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

  • 6

    Check for tenderness.

  • 7

    Serve on hot noodles or biscuits.
