Gooey Butter Cake

ingredients

  • 1 box pound cake mix
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 8 oz package cream cheese
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1 pound box powdered sugar
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

directions

Combine cake mix, butter and 2 eggs stirring until well blended. Beat 1 minute. Spread this batter into greased 9 x 13 pan. Beat cream cheese with mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in remaining 2 eggs, then vanilla. Set aside 1/2 cup of the powdered sugar. Add the rest of powdered sugar to cream cheese batter and beat. Pour over cake batter in pan. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes, then sprinkle with some or all of 1/2 cup powdered sugar. Then continue baking for another 15 to 25 minutes.
