Italian Sausage Calzones
These are nice to make as a heavy appetizer.
ingredients
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 C shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 (8 oz) can pizza sauce
- 2 TBS fresh parsley
- 1 clove garlic, pressed
- 2 (10 oz) pkgs refrigerate pizza crust
- 1/4 C grated Parmesan cheese
directions
Preheat oven to 375°F. In bowl combine sausage, mozzarella cheese, pizza sauce, parsley and garlic. Mix well. Unroll pizza crusts; place side by side on a cutting board. Using a pizza cutter, cut each crust into 6 squares, for a total of 12 squares. Divide filling evenly onto centers of squares. Gather 4 corners of each square up over filling; twist together to seal. Place calzones seam side up in a lightly greased muffin pan. Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top. Bake 25 - 30 minutes or until golden brown.
