Tomato Pudding
Sounds strange, but it’s the perfect sweet accompaniment for prime rib roast.
ingredients
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 large can tomato puree
- 1/2 lb. melted butter/margarine (1 stick)
- 6-8 slices of white bread, cubed and crusts removed
- dash of marjoram
directions
Put cubed bread in greased 1 1/2 c. casserole dish with lid. Pour melted butter over cubes. In a saucepan, boil for 5 minutes the brown sugar, puree and marjoram. Pour over bread. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove cover and bake another 10 minutes.
