ingredients

Tachin mixture
  • 4 tsp saffron
  • 5 cups of basmati rice - soak beforehand in water and salt
  • 1 1/2 cup of yogurt
  • 1 egg
Chicken
  • 3 lbs chicken - nicely cut in 1 inch pieces
  • 1 onion
  • 4 tsp turmeric
  • 1 cup minced fried onion
  • 1 tsp saffron
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Chicken

Boil chicken with all ingredients above for one hour.

Tachin Mixture

  • 1

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Boil rice till soften. Drain rice and mix with all ingredients in the Tachin Mixture. Place oil on bottom of Pyrex dish. Put half of rice in dish. Place a layer of the chicken on top. Then, put second half of rice on chicken.
