Grandma Jean's Rice

KalebKaleb

Remember all those cold winter snow days when Grandma Jean made us our favorite rice? It was amazing when we’d come in from sledding, and someday we might be as good as Grandma Jean at making it. But I think that means we need to start practicing NOW :)

ingredients

  • 1 Cup slow cooking rice (has not been tried with minute rice)
  • 1 Cup water
  • Milk
  • 1/2 - 3/4 Cup Sugar (Maggie likes 3/4 C)
  • Whipped egg

directions

  • 1

Put rice and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.

  • 2

Before it boils dry put a lot of milk on it (Grandma’s measuring!)

  • 3

When the rice is soft, add the sugar.

  • 4

Put a large spoonful of rice in a bowl and add the egg. Mix up and add to entire mixture.

  • 5

    Sprinkle with cinnamon and enjoy!
