Buttermilk Rolls
ingredients
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 7/8 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 4 cup flour
- 2 tsp yeast
directions
Mix yeast with warm water and sugar (allow to bubble up). Combine remaining ingredients in a mixer with a dough hook. Add yeast mixture and buttermilk to the flour and combine until it forms a ball. Allow to rest for 1 hour covered and the dough has doubled in size. Roll into balls and place in a pan and allow to rise. Bake at 400 for approx 15 minutes.
