Amish Friendship Bread
ingredients
- Do not use ANY metal!**
- 1 cup sour dough started
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup oil
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
- 1 1/2 tsp. Baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. Baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 2 cup flour
- 1 large box vanilla instant pudding

Day 1: Do nothing (this is the day the bag is dated)

Day 2: Mash the bag

Day 6: Add 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of milk and mash the bag

Day 10: Pour entire contents of the bag into a non-metal bowl. Add 1 1/2 cups of flour, 1 1/2 cups of sugar, and 1 1/2 cups of milk. Measure out 4 separate 1-cup portions of batter into 4 large Ziploc bags. Date the bags. Keep a starter bag for yourself and give the other 3 starters to friends with a copy of this page.

Make Bread Using This Recipe:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. To the remaining batter, add (with non-metal spoon): 3 eggs, 1 cup of oil, 1/2 cup of milk, 1 cup of sugar, 2 tsp. Of cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. Of vanilla, 1 1/2 tsp. Of baking powder, 1/2 tsp. Of baking soda, 1/2 tsp. Of salt, 2 cups of flour and 1 large box of vanilla instant pudding.
