Mom's easy chocolate cake

ingredients

2 cup flour
2 cup sugar
1/2 t salt
1 cup water
2 cubes of butter
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup buttermilk (milk + 1 t vinegar)
2 eggs
1 t vanilla
1 t soda
frosting:
1 cube butter
1/2 cup cocoa
6 T milk
4 cups powdered sugar
1 t vanilla
1/2 cup pecans

directions

Mix flour, sugar, salt, water, 2 cubes butter and cocoa and bring to a boil. Cool slightly. Add buttermilk, eggs, vanilla and soda. Beat together and pour into a jelly roll pan that has been sprayed with pam. Bake for 20 minutes at 350F. Frosting: bring butter, cocoa and milk to a slight boil. Add powdered sugar and vanilla and mix well. Pour on warm cake and sprinkle with pecans.
