White Cake
ingredients
Cake- 2 c sugar
- 3/4 c shortening
- 2 1/2 c flour
- Pinch salt
- 2 1/2 t baking powder
- 1 c milk
- 5 egg whites
- 1 t vanilla
- 2 egg whites, unbeaten
- 1 1/2 c sugar
- 1/2 t cream of tartar
- 2 t vanilla
- 1/2 c boiling water

Cake

Preheat oven to 375˚.

Mix all ingredients.

Bake 20 minutes.
Icing
- 1
Mix egg whites, sugar, cream of tartar, & vanilla well.

Add boiling water.
- 3
Beat at high speed until stiff peaks form, 10-12 minutes.
