Texas Sheet Cake - Alex
This is a great dessert!
ingredients
- Texas Sheet Cake
- 2 CUPS FLOUR
- 2 CUPS SUGAR
- 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
- Sift flour, sugar, salt 3 times and set aside.
- 2 STICKS PARKAY OR IMPERIAL MARAGINE
- (OR SUBSTITUTE PART BUTTER)
- 3 TABLESPOONS COCOA (HERSHEY’S OR NESTLE)
- 1 CUP WATER
- Put these 3 ingredients in a large pan and bring
- to a rapid boil. Turn stove off and add dry
- ingredients to above mixture.
- Add 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon vanilla,
- 1/2 cup buttermilk (fill a measuring cup with
- 2% or 1%milk add 1 tablespoon vinegar mix)
- (substitute for buttermilk)
- Add 2 slightly beaten eggs.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes in a
- greased 17 X 11 cookie sheet
- ICING
- 1 STICK MARGARINE (PARKAY OR IMPERIAL)
- 1 TABLESPOON COCOA (I USE 3-4, TASTE & SEE)
- 6 TABLESPOONS MILK
- 1 BOX OF CONFECTIONERS SUGAR
- 1 TEASPOON VAMILLA
- 1 1/2 CUPS CHOPPED PECANS (OR MORE)

Having icing ready and put on cake as soon as it is done.

Hint: Get all your ingredients measured out and ready to assemble before you start mixing.
