Brielle's Cranberry Salad (year round favorite)
This holiday classic can be enjoyed all year if you buy and freeze cranberries when they’re in season
ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 package (12 ounces) fresh cranberries
- 2 navel oranges , peeled, sectioned and cubed
- 1 red apple, cored and sliced
- 1 banana slices
- 2 tablespoons chopped pecans
directions

In medium saucepan, combine water, sugar, and cranberries. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, just until cranberries begin to open. Transfer to large bowl. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.

Fold in oranges, apple, banana, and pecans. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour. Serve well-chilled.

TIPS To store cranberries in the freezer, wrap the original bag in foil or place it in a freezer bag. Use Gala apples for a crisp texture with a sweet taste.
