French Breakfast Muffins
ingredients
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 c. flour, sifted
- 1 1/2 c. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 c. milk
- Topping:
- 1/3 c. melted butter
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. sugar
directions
Mix shortening, sugar, and egg until light Add the sifted dry ingredients alternately with the milk. Bake in a greased muffin cups 20-25 minutes at 350°. When muffins are done, dip bottom and sides in the melted butter and then in the cinnamon and sugar which have been mixed together.
