ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cups brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 4 medium bananas)
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 1/3 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 eggs
  • Streusel Topping:
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup stick butter, cut into small pieces

    Preheat oven to 350°. In a large mixing bowl combine all the dry ingredients and mix by hand. Add bananas, butter, vanilla and milk. Beat with an electric mixer on high for 2 minutes. Add apples, stir them in by hand.

    In a small bowl combine the sugar, flour, and cinnamon. With a fork cut in the butter until the mixture is lumpy.

    Pour batter into a 8x4x2-loaf pan. Sprinkle streusel topping over batter. Bake in oven for 55 to 60 minutes or till a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Let bread cool for 10 minutes than remove from pan. For best results when bread is completely cooled wrap and store overnight before slicing
