Chocolate Cake
ingredients
- Cake:
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. flour
- 1 c. butter
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. cocoa
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Frosting:
- 1/2 c. butter
- 6 Tbsp. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 c. cocoa
- 1 lb. powder sugar
- 1 c. pecans (optional)

Mix flour, sugar, and salt.

Combine butter, cocoa, and water in pan.

Cook to boiling.

Pour over sugar and flour- mix thoroughly.

Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla. Mix well.

Pour into a greased jelly roll pan.

Bake at 375° for 20 minutes.

Frosting:

Combine butter, cocoa, and milk. Cook to boiling. Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients.

Mix well and spread on cake while hot.
