ingredients

  • 4 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. Jim Dandy grits (or 3/4 c. instant)
  • 1 1/2 c. grated sharp cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 4 eggs (slightly beaten)
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 lb. sausage (browned and drained)

directions

Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Grease 3 qt. baking pyrex dish. Cook grits. Remove from heat and stir in 1 c. cheese and butter until melted. Add eggs, milk, and sausage and blend well. Bake for 1 hour.
